Synopsis
Faisal Al Sheikh joined Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority(TCA Abu Dhabi) in April, 2006, where he is active in the strategic planning and implementation of different sports, cultural, entertainment and other major events and festivals in the emirate. Currently, he is the Director of TCA’s Events Bureau and represents the Authority in the boards of several government organizations.
Moreover, he is an active member in the organizing committees of several local and international major events that are hosted to develop the tourism & culture sector in Abu Dhabi and promote the Emirate as a distinguished regional and international destination with outstanding cultural and tourism offerings.

Job Description
Director of Events Bureau
- Managing administrational, organizational, technical, financial and HR aspects in the Events Bureau.
- Representing TCA Abu Dhabi in local and international Media.
- Developing and approving operation budgets of regular and extraordinary events and managing their financial items as per TCA’s governance policy.
- Recruiting and training national talents through appropriate training program designed for the development of future local leaders.
- Developing overall performance and achievement reports on the activities of Events Bureau as well as the committees of major events.
- Creating committees responsible for major events to maximize performance of each committee as per its responsibilities.
- Supervising all administration and operations of events affairs and following up relevant recommendations as well as field oversight of operations.
- Overseeing the development of IT applications designed to safeguard effective and efficient administration of the Bureau and its financial, administrational and technical affairs.
- Developing and supervising workshops run by the Bureau to educate members and stakeholders and reinforce coordination and cooperation among them with respect to events’ quality and good timing in accordance with location and date of each event.
- Continuously developing Sponsorship Program and devising new methodologies to attract more local and international sponsors for events in the Emirate to reinforce partnerships and support events.
- Developing and approving creative agendas for events and overseeing their implementation.
- Overseeing the development of the Bureau’s strategic plans.
- Providing administrational and operational requirements to safeguard high performance among external and internal stakeholders.
- Empowering and enabling middle management to implement business policies and procedures to achieve future vision of event sector in the Emirate.
- Communicating with the leaderships of government and private partners and stimulating their cooperation with TCA.
- Devising new creative and innovative ideas for new events that can achieve the vision and objectives of event sector in the Emirate.
- Developing current events with respect to offerings, scale and targeted geographic scope.
- Providing event sector active partners with consultation and technical support.
- Working closely with internal and external partners to develop new competitive and appealing promotional and tourism offerings with the objective of achieving the best operation of events and attractions in the Emirate.
- Creating sustainable development of effective cooperation with partners that can reinforce event sector in the Emirate.
- Overseeing effective cooperation with suppliers, contractors and partners to execute required logistics and safeguard quality offerings and performance.
- Following up and updating TCA’s events related contracts and other liabilities.
- Guaranteeing sustainable efforts to promote the Emirate as a major tourism destination with distinction through unique and innovative events.
Responsibilities in TCA Abu Dhabi included the following:
- Directly supervising the successful development and implementation of events and leading their teams.
- Developing and designing new festivals and events to reinforce the promotion of the Emirate as a tourism destination.
- Safeguarding the good performance of suppliers as per the approved specifications for major and minor events.
- Person in charge, team leader and direct supervisor of many major events run by TCA, the most important ones included:
- Directly supervising the successful development and implementation of events and leading their teams.
- Planning, managing activities related, and the direct coordination and follow up with sub-committees and their execution plans, executive procedures to obtain targeted achievements.
- Guarantee and facilitate all major requirements, services and human resources that support the committees’ targets. In addition, Supervising all incentives initiatives to attract partners in line with the social themes and values which considered as major pillars to enrich the nation memory among the community.
- Setting Festival general scope that includes themes, activities, partners, responsibilities, relations, committees, that meet’s festival’s vision

- Setting the mechanism of managing and developing website and applications content and services: in terms of: texts, images, multimedia, look and feel design, online services, and partners responsibilities and ntages of partnering.
